Backyard composting allows you to recycle your yard clippings and fruit and vegetable scraps into a valuable soil amendment right in your own yard. It is a great way to save money, reduce the amount of waste that is disposed, and improve the quality of your soil. The Recycling & Solid Waste Division is hosting six free composting seminars in 2014. The sessions will include information on drought tolerant plants and ways to save water in your garden. There are two sessions on March 8th from 8:00-9:00AM and 9:00-10:00AM at the Southside Community Garden.
